Sun-kissed Pop Idol star Darius Danesh showed this year's finalists the lifestyle they can expect as he took a break with his stunning girlfriend in Mauritius.
Scot Darius, 22, bounced back from being ridiculed for his goatee beard and ponytail on reality show Popstars to come third on the first Pop Idol series.
Soon after, he signed a £1million record contract and has lived life in the fast lane ever since. Darius has scored a string of hits including a No 1 with Colourblind and packed so much into his life after the show that he got enough material for an autobiography - Sink or Swim.
Colourblind proved to be even luckier for the star who met 20-year old babe Jacqui Ainsley while filming the video.
As well as their on-off love affair, Darius has been linked with a string of beautiful women including Gossard pin-up Kate Groombridge and society girl Venetia Hibbert.
But Jacqui looked to be the sunshine of his life s they based in the heat of Mauritius during their pre-Christmas break. One onlooker said "he looked every inch the international superstar.
"With a beautiful semi-naked babe by his side and his Ferrari baseball cap, he looked to be the real thing.
"if the Pop Idol finalists wondered what they were putting themselves through all this for, then that was it."
After his break, it's back to the recording studio for Darius. He's going to put the finishing touches to a new album whcih he hopes will be out early in the New Year - with a spring tour to follow
Star's pal reveals all'
Pop hunk Darius Danesh enjoys the fruits of success as he relaxes in the sun with a topless blonde girlfriend. While the latest crop of Pop Idol wannabes battled it out in last night's TV final, talent show veteran Darius was taking it easy at a five-star resort in Mauritius.
Another guest said: 'The pair have been here for a couple of days and are always kissing and cuddling. They can't keep their hands off each other.'
Despite losing out on Popstars and the first series of Pop Idol, Scot Darius, 23, went on to carve out a great showbiz career and hit number one with his own song Colourblind.
He once confessed that he turned to drink after criticism of his humiliating Popstars version of Britney Spears' Hit Me Baby One More Time.
Looks like Darius AND his blonde bosom buddy both know it never does any harm to get things off your chest
loser Darius Doesn't seem to have done to bad out of it
It's exhausting being a Pop Idol. Darius Danesh can't keep his eyes open.even with girlfriend Jacqui Ainsly looking gorgeous.
Glasgow born darius 23, started to snooze as soon as jacqui hit the sunbed.
But at least he'd stayed awake long enough to watch her take off her bikini top on a break on the Indian Ocean Island of Mauritius
An on looker said "he ws the only one near Jacqui with his eyes shut. Everyone eles were popping out"
Darius, who has a £1 million record deal and scored a No.1 smash with Colourblind, has previously been linked with Fame Academy's Sinead Quinn.

Darius frolics in paradise with girlfriend
Scots star is so much in love
Pop singer Darius Danesh strokes girlfriend Jacqui Ainsley on the bottom as they relax on the paradise island of Mauritius.
Darius,23, later smooched with the stunning model over a cooling drink as they enjoyed a sunshine break.
The pair have been soaking up the rays on the white beaches and sharing intimate lunches.
And dancer Jacqui,20, had no qualms about showing off her curves as she sunbathed topless next to her Scots Pop Idol lover.
Their passionate display of affection dispels rumours their relatio0nship was at risk because of Darius' wandering eye. Earlier this month , the cheeky crooner was spotted getting cosy with a stunning blonde at the London premiere of Lord of the Rings.
Darius met Jacqui during the filming of his second music video and they have been almost inseparable ever since.
Both come from Glasgow and Darius met this year's Pop Idol finalist last week.
Darius, putting the finishing touches to his second album, admits he's been voting for Michelle all through the show. But not because she's Scottish.
He said: ''My support lies with Michelle because she's got the best voice of this year's contestants. I was in the kitchen and heard her singing, popped my head round to the living room and there's was this big girl standing there loud and proud.
''I thought 'good on you' and wanted her to win. Then found out she was Scottish, which is an added bonus. And if you ask any trained musicians they'll say technically she is the best. I admire her for what she stands for determination. She's not a conventional shape or size but she stands there and says: 'this is who I am and take me as I am.' And I love that.''
And is Darius ready to give up his Scots Pop Idol crown?
He laughed: ''The Pop Idol crown never fitted me and I'm glad the more deserving man, Will Young, won. But the crown will fit very well on Michelle's head if she wins it and that's down to us all voting.''

Pop Idol near-miss Darius Danesh proved a hit with Christmas shoppers last night.
Darius, who came third in last year's Pop Idol contest, attracted crowds of fans as he visited Gateshead's MetroCentre.
The Scotsman was at WH Smith's in the Green Mall to sign copies of his book Sink or Swim from 6pm.
"It's absolutely unbelievable," said store manager David Shapiro last night.
"We knew Darius was popular so we were expecting a lot of people, but this is fantastic. There are queues right around the store, going up the stairs, round the first floor and back down again.
"I would estimate we've got around 400 to 500 people here.
"We had taken extra security measures just to make sure everyone was OK and no one jumped the queue but it is all going very smoothly.
"Although, there are so many people queuing, I think we'll still be here at 10pm."
Brought back into the Pop Idol contest when Rik Waller dropped out with a throat infection last year, Darius was beaten by competition winner Will Young and runner-up Gareth Gates.
But, despite that disappointment, he has gone on to sell just under one million copies of his debut album, Dive In, and his first single, Colourblind, went straight to number one and heralded a string of hits.

Raised in the up-market Glasgow suburb of Bearsden, Darius gained his fame after appearing on the television talent show Popstars, which also led to the manufactured pop group Hear’Say and then Pop Idol which was first won in 2001 by Will Young.
Darius has since gone on to top the charts with his single Colour Blind.
His mother Avril is also a doctor - but in general practice.
No date for the tribunal hearing has yet been set.

He declined to comment on the proceedings when contacted by The Herald last night.
Former colleagues, however, reacted with amazement, claiming that he appeared happy to take early retirement two months ago.
A former consultant at Stobhill, who did not wish to be named, said he was "astonished" at the news.
He said: "I spoke at his retirement dinner two months ago and had no idea this was going to happen. I don't know why he is bringing this case. It's awful.
"Most consultants retire now at 60 because of the pressure of working in the health service. Normally, retirement is 65 but it is very usual for people to take early retirement. He certainly wasn't dismissed."
Dr Jean Turner, the independent MSP, said she knew Dr Danesh from campaigning against the closure of Stobhill but that this was the first time she had heard he had resigned unhappily.
She said: "At the time of his retirement, everyone assumed he was simply retiring early. As for the racial thing, it would be the last thing that would come to mind. It might be that he has evidence that no-one else has."
Brian Williams, who last night stepped down as vice-president of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow, of which Dr Danesh is a council member, said he was surprised to be told about the proceedings.
He said: "As far as I was aware, Booth Danesh left the health service in entirely amicable circumstances."
Under employment law, a claim for constructive dismissal would be lodged with the tribunal service as unfair dismissal.
A spokeswoman for North Glasgow Hospitals NHS Trust refused to confirm whether Dr Danesh had left its employment or had previously been employed at Stobhill.
She said: "We are aware of a claim that has been lodged against the trust by Dr Danesh. We are currently preparing our case and will be able to respond to the claim over the course of the tribunal."

Dr Danesh's father was an ambassador under the Shah of Iran, but the family lost everything in 1979 when he was overthrown. By then, he had moved to Scotland to train as a doctor and later married and settled in Bearsden, Glasgow.
Press reports have portrayed Dr Danesh as a strict, teetotal Muslim who raised Darius and his two younger brothers on a clean-living ethos.
No date for the tribunal hearing has yet been set.
