Hello!
Cosmo Girl
Darius Danesh
Darius, 22, was a star of Popstars and then Pop Idol and now has a hit album. He is single and divides his time between London and Glasgow.
Did you sleep well last night?
I slept well for the hours I slept! I went to bed about 1am and got up at about six. We got back from Germany late then had an early start with photo shoots and interviews. I'm usually a good sleeper - at least whenever I'm in my own bed.
Who were you with at midnight?
I was 'with' an Australian journalist called Julia doing a phone interview. She was in Australia and I was in my bedroom, alone.
Who was the first person you spoke to today?
My press officer. First thing, I usually try and catch my Mum, and my little brother before he goes to school.
What was your best meal today?
At the photo shoot. There was this really great chicken salad with lots of herbs. I try not to eat sliced bread as my dad's a gastroenterologist and reckons it's got so many additives that it's not good for you.
What was the most expensive thing you bought today?
I spent all of £4.50 on a card for a girlfriend. It's one f those singing cards; when you open it, it sings 'Sex Bomb'. I don't blow my hard earned cash on just anything! I did treat myself to a nice two week holiday with my brother in Mauritius recently, though
What annoyed you most today?
Nothing! Maybe if someone said my new song, Incredible, was anything less than incredible, I'd be annoyed.
What made you laugh today?
My Dad told me I got my honourary degree from Edinburgh. I did three out of four years of English Lit, and it made me laugh because I was the biggest skiver of any student there.
What do you regret about today?
I don't really believe in regrets, but I do regret having a Snickers. I've got a brace behind my front teeth and one of the little nuts is caught in it.
What made you most proud today?
I can tell you what I'm least proud of - I kept a friend waiting for half an hour while I was on the phone. I think he'll forgive me. But if there are any pretty girls when we go out tonight, we'll probably forego our gentleman's agreement. Usually, if we both like a girl we either toss a coin or discuss which one of us should date her. It's nothing to do with car size.
What song can't you get out of your head at the moment?
I can't get 'Skater Boi' by Avril Lavigne out of my head. It's really catchy.
How long did you spend getting ready this morning?
Ten minutes - brushing my teeth probably takes me the longest. I don't really shave; I use a portable clipper, so I'm a bit scruffy, but I do shower twice a day.
Did you meet anyone new today?
I met Girls Aloud at the studio. They seemed nice. Is there romance potential? I don't think so, I don't like the idea of dating a celebrity; my life's crazy enough as it is. All that stuff about me being engaged is rubbish. I go for normal girls. That's why I still travel by tube.
What time will you be in bed tonight?
It's going to be a really late one because my mate's going to Hong Kong tomorrow and everyone he's invited to his party is single. But I'm going to end up in my own bed, ready for my early wake-up call.
Is it a good or a bad hair day?
I haven't cut my hair in five months so it's longer than it was. Am I going back to the old Darius look? Absoloutely not! Bad hair days are like getting out of the wrong side of the bed.
Darius' new single, Incredible, is out tomorrow.
