I'm really pleased that your dad is now in remission. What is the most important lesson that you have learned this year?
Darius
I learned that I've been living my life with the motto "live for the day" for as long as I can remember, but it wasn't until I faced the prospect of losing my father that I knew what that truly meant.

Darius, what advice can you give on singing and songwriting?
Darius
I suppose, I still don't feel qualified to give any "advice"... I can only share my thoughts. and what I feel I have learnt. I think it's true that practice makes perfect I only know this cos I never practice but hey - nobody's perfect!

You seem to radiate confidence whenever I see you on the television or in interviews. Have you always been a confident person or is it just an act?

I have learned to try and be honest with myself... as much as I can when being interviewed and that allows the true me to answer a question. We all wear different masks everyday to different people and we all have insecurities but when you try to really embrace life and enjoy the moment... then one of the things you can't help but discover is a kind of confidence.

What's your views on all the Elvis releases ?

I think the Elvis releases are fantastic what a great way to bring back the King!! Some of his songs were genre defining moments in pop history and I think it's great that a different generation are going to have the opportunity to hear one of the greatest recording artists of all time

No regrets just experience. I'm lucky to have had a number one single and a platinum album and the opportunity to work with world respected producers. I think I'm the luckiest boy I know

what questions REALLY annoy you or bore you? As a budding journalist this should be useful. To an extent.

Nothing really. Because I always try and understand where that person is coming from when they ask a question, they probably didn't know that I'd been asked that question before. And it's funny but sometimes over time the answer to the same question changes

Getting turned down on popstars was an important lesson... on how to get knocked down on national television. It allowed me to re-evaluate what was important to me and my goals and I learned that I can't help but get back on my feet no matter what anyone throws at me

Yeah - I almost go into trouble at one point. While chasing Rodrigo, my trusty steed I was running down a back alley in Malaga chasing after the horse at full pace... when a paparazzi poked his head out from the side of the alley and took a shot. when the horse saw the flash he reared up on his hind legs and I ran straight into the back of him I was lucky not to get kicked in the chest!
