Darius

Mirror M Celebs 23 November 2003

We could barely contain our excitement when the pop idol hunk agreed to spritz us bavy one more time...

Chic - Micheal Kors sheer from £29
This is pleasant but it lacks character. Looking at the bottle i was expecting an uplifting feminine fragrance but it was actually a bit forgettable.

Fun Loving - Origins frolic £25
I like honeysuckle but this just smells a bit like air freshener. Its a bit tacky and acrid, to be honest.

Elegant - L'Instant De Guerlain
This is the ideal christmas present for your mother. The flowery mumsy scent and impressive packaging will ensure you an extra helping of turkey. Lovely.

Romantic - Givenchy Very irresistble
Does exactly what it says on the very elegant bottle - a beautiful , fresh scent. I imagine the kind of woman whod wear this would be sexy and mischeavious.

Fruity- Cacharel - Amor Amor
Wow, this is a real killer fragrance - very sassy and sexy. A musky scent like this is guarenteed to get a mans pulse racing. Quirky- Burberry Brit
I wasnt keen on the garnigh bottle but the fragrane itself is playful and fresh. An acquired taste but it definately stands out from the usual flowery scents.

Sensual - Armani Night
One of my faves - passion in a bottle. The kind of woman who wears this is devilishly sexy. I reckon this should be the arsenal of every femme fatale.

Comforting- Serge Lutens Un Bois Vanille
It reminds me of death by chocolate cake - sickly and far too rich. The vanilla is overpowering and the bottle looks cheap.

Fresh - Clinique Simply
My favourite. Its soft , fresh , demure and delicate- really equisite. It just brings back happy summer memories.

Now I'm Barryus

Daily Record 21 November 2003

Singer copies Scotland star's haircut to flirt on TV
By Cameron Robertson

SINGER Darius Danesh has given his dark locks the boot with a Barry Ferguson-style makeover.

He is sporting the same blond, peaked look as the Scotland and Blackburn Rovers midfielder opted for recently.

Explaining the decision, Darius said he was hoping for more success with the ladies.

He added: ``They say blonds tend to havemorefun, sowe'llseewhathappens.''

Speaking on ITV1's This Morning, the star admitted he loved to flirt with older women including the show's host Fern Britton and GMTV's Scots presenter Lorraine Kelly.

He said: ``I'm very sorry Fern but I do it a lot with you and Lorraine.

``I just have a soft spot for both of you. Is that bad?

``I really enjoy coming on to your shows and seeing you both.''

The singer joked that his autobiography Darius: Sink or Swim had a massive number of photos featuring hispouting lips. But he said: ``It was a lot of fun doing the photo shoots.

``However, the real work was writing it and I hope people read it and don't just look at the photos.''

Darius also confessed that his dark looks his father was born in Iran and his mum is Scottish meant he was bullied at school.

He recalled: ``The police were involved once I was beaten up 50 yards from my home.

``I didn't want to tell my parents and it was the most distressing thing I've ever gone through.''

He attacked the Government for not doing enough to help victimised children.

Darius said: ``I'm sure a lot of these ministers who put out trendy catchphrases were not bullied themselves.

``I think we would have had more action sooner had this been the case.''

#3 (up 7 from 2002) DARIUS DANESH SINGER, 23

Scotland on Sunday 9 November 2003

Lives His heart belongs in Glasgow, but he moves all over the world - most recently to LA.

Who he? Almost a Popstar, almost a Pop Idol, Darius finally made it big in his own right in 2003. Over the past year, he's released a double-platinum album, which was followed by a sell-out tour, he has appeared in Hollyoaks and written a book entititle Sink or Swim, describing his experiences in reality TV. All in all, it looks as if turning down Simon 'Hear'Say' Cowell's record deal in order to take up Steve 'U2' Lillywhite's offer was exactly the right move for this talented young man. When his second album comes out in the next few months you won't be able to leave the house without seeing his image.

Conquests Darius has been connected with the occasional model, as well as a student who scared him away by being "too full-on", but is currently enjoying the bachelor life.

Haunts Book signings, awards shows, movie premieres, TV spots, radio interviews... If there's somewhere he can be that's in the public eye, he'll be there.

Pluses Smart, good-looking, he finally seems to have the style thing under control. And he has got the potential to go a very long way.

Minuses He's constantly on the move and whoever he ends up with is going to take second place to the music.

Do Compliment him on his acting - he's on record as fancying himself as the next James Bond.

Don't Tell him what you think of his favourite football team - Partick Thistle.

Darius backs the pop idols of the future

Edinburgh Evening News 8 November 2003

POP Idol Darius Danesh was in Edinburgh last night to support young people taking part in The Prince’s Trust - Scotland’s Sound Live celebration in Leith.

The event recognised the hard work of young musicians who completed the Sound Live course.

Thirty young people performed at the concert at the Commplex, showcasing the skills they have learned from their time with the trust.

Darius said: "As a Prince’s Trust Ambassador, I think it is great to see that we are recognising the hidden talent of young people in Scotland.

"All it takes is a little encouragement to help these people make the most of themselves - they could be the pop idols of tomorrow."

Euan Davidson, director of The Prince’s Trust - Scotland, added: "Around 100 people each year in Scotland complete the Sound Live course, many of whom develop careers in the music industry.

"This celebration will recognise the development of the young people involved and demonstrate the confidence and skills that they have learnt."

Sound Live is a six-day residential course about music where young people can learn new skills from professional tutors, try new music styles, play in a band with others and perform on the final night.

It's been a hell of a night for Darius

Daily Record 1 November 2003

It's hell being a pop star sometimes - which is probably why Darius Danesh got made up as the devil for Mariah Carey's Halloween party last night.

The Scots singer, complete with black fingernails, was in tow with girlfriend Jacqui Ainsley for the London bash.
